Paul et Rimbaud

The neighborhood of Bastille and rue de la Roquette is one of the most lively and buzzy areas in Paris. Maybe too busy sometimes. When you are craving for a more quiet and authentic place, the literary coffee shop Paul et Rimbaud is not to be missed, with its large, bright and cosy room, its refined interior design featuring plants and  fresh flowers, comfy furniture, and an entire wall of books, mostly classics of French literature, philosophy or poetry available to customers. Pick a seat and order from the two nice women in charge, mother and daughter, both baristas specializing in  fine coffees. Be sure to taste their day specials and treats as well, from quiches and tarts to chocolate cake.

Rare enough in Paris to be worthy of note: the washroom is really accessible for persons with reduced mobility.
